Why doesn’t Tommy’s Express pre-spray cars?
Customers new and old may have noticed that Tommy’s Express doesn’t have anyone standing out in front of the car wash with a pressure washer. But why not, when so many other car washes do? After all, isn’t that the best way to peel off those annoying bugs smeared across your front bumper?
Let’s find out!
First of all, what factors really go into washing a car?
- Water Pressure
- Detergent (Soap) Action
- Friction (Scrubbing)
To wash a car efficiently and safely, you need all three working together in balance.
The prewashers you see at other car washes, with a team member standing out front and spraying up cars as they come in, seem like they should be a good fit. The pressure washer wands have strong pressure and the water is usually mixed with a presoak solution to help cut through dirt and grime before the car reaches the brushes.
So what’s the problem?
Wasted water
Even the best, most efficient car wash employee isn’t going to be able to wash down the front of each car perfectly every time. They’re going to need to make multiple passes from different angles, and that means a lot of water, presoak, and energy is going to be wasted thanks to simple human error.
Wasted time
That team member with their pressure washer is going to need time to do a good job, and taking that time is going to slow down EVERYTHING. That means longer lines heading out to the road, slower loading, and longer visits every time you want your car cleaned.
Wasted sweat
Like the old saying goes, work smarter—not harder. And prewashing is hard work. The wand and pressure gets heavy, clothes get soaked (even in freezing weather), and the worker is always bending over to spray down those tough angles.
Thankfully, Tommy’s Express has a better solution. Better for you, better for your car, and better for our team as well. We call it the TRIPLE PRESOAK!
Prewashing done right
The Triple Presoak is the very first round arch you meet when you roll into the tunnel. It’s got a lot going on, including:
- Paired foaming and non-foaming tire sprayers
- Rear-facing presoak sprayers to cover the front of your car, from bumper to windshield
- Front-facing sprayers to coat your rear window, hatch, and bumper
- 360-degree sprayers to hit everything else—top, middle, and bottom!
- A low-pressure underbody flush underneath, so even the bottom of your car gets a good cleanout without component damage
- A bit of fragrance injection, so your car comes out smelling as good as it looks
This presoak system gives our team much better control of our wash results, with built-in mechanical precision, better coverage, proper presoak dilutions for each area of your car, reduced water use, and quicker timing so you can visit our wash and get on with your day faster than ever.
If you ever have a problem, or some of those bugs just didn’t peel off the first time, let us know and we’ll help make it right!
