2023 is marked as a year of innovation and growth for Tommy’s Express Car Wash and Tommy Car Wash Systems. There is much to celebrate between the move into our new Tommy’s Headquarters (HQ), site expansion, and an additional interior cleaning location.

Construction began in 2021, and after about two years, we celebrated the grand opening in August.

Having our brands under one roof has drawn out a new spirit of efficiency, community, and togetherness in our team.  

The new headquarters is a testament to the company’s commitment to continually reinvest in the future of Tommy’s, doubling down on the amazing story ahead. The world-class support center benefits team members with a high-quality workspace. Franchise Partners and Tommy Car Wash Systems customers also enjoy the advantage of a powerful production and distribution hub to better serve their wash sites and drive innovation.

Exciting growth for Tommy Car Wash Systems

Working in our new 210,000 sq. ft. warehouse, Tommy Car Wash Systems supports sites, develops wash products, and processes orders faster and better than ever.  

Being spread across five buildings as an innovation and manufacturing company presented a logistical challenge. Now, with a spacious, custom-built facility to house all operations, Tommy Car Wash Systems is positioned for years of growth in efficiency and in-house production capability.  

Innovations whose development and deployment were aided by the new facility include the Tommy RO System, the Tommy Water Softener System, and the Tommy Molded Mat Washer, which is available for pre-order.  

These products add value to franchise partners and customers by reducing costs and decreasing repair time and difficulty. 

Tommy’s Express reaches new milestones 

Tommy’s Express raced past 150 operating locations mid-year, opening 47 U.S.-based washes and ending the year with 183 locations nationwide. Tommy’s Express dug in with determination and continued with its commitment to expand into new and existing communities, adding value to a TommyClub® membership with each site opened, including the September groundbreaking of a site in Allonne, France. 

We are also excited to welcome many new franchise partner groups to Tommy’s in 2023.

New franchise partners bring a wealth of business expertise and add significant value to the brand. Their insight, experience, and connections make our franchise partner community stronger, smarter, and better equipped.

Along with the growth in community and locations nationwide, we added value to the Tommy’s Express membership experience by bolstering our proprietary technology suite.

This expansion led to the launch of our Referral Rewards program in May. TommyClub® members can now share their unique referral link with loved ones and are rewarded with unlimited $5 credits for each new sign-up of first-time members. 

The program adds value to TommyClub by making sharing our excellent car wash membership experience sweeter than ever. Tommy’s Express saw a strong adoption of the program and is excited to see it grow as more members take advantage of the opportunity to share the shine.

We also focused our attention on improving the guest experience, digitally and in-person. This allows Tommy’s Express to remain relevant, timely, and supportive of guests nationwide. These efforts ensured the continued provision of expert car wash technology while, most importantly, prioritizing our daily visitors.

Through our industry-leading innovation in new club member sign-up processes, ongoing club member engagement, and referral program, TommyClub at Tommy’s Express continues to define the standard of a modern car wash experience.

Expansion into the interior cleaning market with Flex Models 

Tommy’s entered the interior cleaning market this year, opening two Flex Model locations. 

We converted an existing Totally Tommy location into a Tommy’s Express franchised location, equipped with one exterior and one interior tunnel in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. After some renovation, the site began washing cars in June, with the interior tunnel serving guests in October. 

The second Flex Model opened under Quality Car Wash in early November in Holland, Michigan. This wash model has one wash tunnel and two express interior cleaning tunnels.

The Flex Model diversifies the portfolio of wash models available to TCWS customers, and we look forward to offering our interior cleaning to communities across the country in the years ahead.
